Manapulse — Magic: The Gathering collection, deck & game tracker
Manapulse is a free, installable web app (PWA) for Magic: The Gathering and Commander/EDH players. Look up any card, scan cards with your phone camera, track and value your collection, build and import decks, watch prices, settle trades, and log games with your playgroup — all in one place.
Features
- On-device card scanner — Identify cards with your phone camera — the exact printing, foil or non-foil, and even The List and Mystery Booster reprints. Works on any surface, sleeved or not. Recognition runs entirely in your browser on your device, so your card photos are never uploaded.
- Instant card lookup — Search any Magic card for prices, rulings, printings and format legality — no account needed.
- Collection tracker — Track every copy you own with its exact printing, condition, finish, language and purchase price — so you can answer both 'what have I spent on this' and 'what is it worth now'.
- Binder & container management — Know which binder, box or deck a card is physically in, not just that you own one. Capacity tracking, and rule-based auto-filing of anything still loose (not yet in a container).
- Sealed product tracking — Track sealed boxes and packs alongside your cards, with their current market value and what they are worth opened. Crack one and the contents land in your collection with the cost spread across them.
- Pack & box simulator — Open a pack from any set at today's real prices, with no account — for the fun of it, and to see how a box's cost compares with what it actually yields.
- Wishlist with price alerts — Keep a want-list with target prices and get notified when cards drop — then add them straight to a CardTrader cart.
- Trade builder — Build trades against your collection, balance both sides by price, and settle up (with MobilePay hand-off).
- Collection price alerts — Daily alerts when cards you own rise or fall in value, plus catalog-wide market movers.
- Decks: build & import — Build decks in-app or import and sync public decks from Archidekt and Moxfield, with legality checks and composition insights.
- Collection & deck analytics — Profit/loss, value history, composition and shared-staples analytics across your collection and decks.
- Game tracking & stats — Log Commander/EDH games on your own, or create a playgroup and invite players to share win-rate leaderboards and stats.
- CardTrader order sync — Connect CardTrader to sync your purchase orders into your collection automatically.
- Rules quiz & judge training — Test your Magic rules knowledge across seventeen tracks — layers, the stack, state-based actions, combat and Commander — each with a written primer, and an explanation plus the Comprehensive Rules reference after every answer. Daily challenge, timed ranked runs, no account needed.
- Multiplayer life counter — A built-in life counter with commander damage for games at the table — no account needed.
- Buyer & seller share pages — Share a public, price-stamped view of your for-sale cards or wishlist with trade partners.
Frequently asked questions
What is Manapulse?
Manapulse is a free web app (PWA) for Magic: The Gathering players to track their collection, build and import decks, scan cards, watch prices, settle trades, and log Commander/EDH games with their playgroup.
What can the card scanner tell apart?
It identifies the exact printing — the set and collector number, not just the card name — reads whether the copy is foil, non-foil or etched, and detects the corner stamp that marks a The List or Mystery Booster reprint, which is the only visual difference between those cards and the printing they copy. It works on wood, cloth playmats and cluttered tables, and sleeves are fine; no white background is needed.
Does the card scanner upload my photos?
No. The scanner identifies cards using machine-learning models that run entirely in your browser on your device — your photos never leave your phone.
Which deck sites can I import from?
You can import and sync public decks from Archidekt and Moxfield — by username, or straight from a deck link.
Does Manapulse track card prices?
Yes. Prices come from Cardmarket in EUR (shown in EUR or DKK), with daily alerts when cards you own or want change in value, and CardTrader integration for buying.
Can I track Commander games with my group?
Yes. Log games on your own, or create a playgroup, invite players, and share win-rate leaderboards and stats.
Can I test my Magic rules knowledge?
Yes — the rules quiz is free and needs no account. Seventeen training tracks (layers, the stack, state-based actions, triggers, combat, Commander, tournament policy and more) each open with a written primer, and every answer is followed by an explanation and the Comprehensive Rules numbers it rests on. There's a daily challenge and timed ranked runs with a judge-inspired rank ladder.
Is Manapulse free?
Yes, and it stays free. There is no paid tier and no trial that runs out. Manapulse also installs as an app on your phone or desktop.
Do I need an account to use Manapulse?
Not for most of it. The card scanner, card lookup, the pack simulator, the rules quiz, the commander roll, the price movers and the site-wide game stats all work with no account. An account is for the parts that have to be yours: your collection, your wishlist, your decks, your trades and your playgroup's game record.
Can Manapulse tell me where a card physically is?
Yes — that is the point of its binders and containers. It tracks the individual copy rather than the card, so it can tell you that this Rhystic Study is in your High Value Binder while the other three are in the trade box.
Can I track sealed product?
Yes. Sealed boxes and packs are tracked and valued alongside your cards, and opening one moves the contents into your collection with the cost allocated across them. You can also simulate opening any product for free, without an account.
